at the heel now. what i think ill do is do 4 instep cable columns/4 heel flap cable columns (it makes more sense to me this way?) plus one purl st on each side of the flap, and continue the cables down the foot, stopping before the toe

heel flap for 19 rows (2 in), turn heel flap over 11 center st, m1p in the corners of the gusset (no decreases), gusset decreases outside these extra st until sole is 33 st

7.5 gusset + instep repeats, end on round 6

at the toe now. after setup, alternate between the two toe rows without changing the decrease rate until sole is 11 st

toe row 1: p1, ssktbl (?), work twisted rib to the end of the instep k2togtbl, work sole with decreases

toe row 2: p1, k1tbl, work twisted rib to the end of the instep, k1tbl, work sole w/o decreases
