I tried about 3 different ways to do bobbles before I found one I was happy with. This is what I did:

3 stitch bobble
K through the front, leave on the needle
K through the back, leave on the needle
K through the front, leave on the needle
Turn work
Purl 3 new stitches
Turn work
Knit 3 stitches
Turn work
Purl 3 stitches
Turn work
Knit 3 stitches
Pass 2 stitches over left most stitch
