I thought I had to use the XL pattern to get an S-M with my yarn and hook. The star turned out too big and I didn’t want to frog so I made a messy approximation and worked it all in ch 5 loops, except for the last 3 rows, where I made ch 6 loops. I made 18 filet rows after the star.

The sleeves were not a piece of cake. 8 loops was too little, 10 loops too much, so I somehow made 9 loops, worked them in ch 5 down to below the elbow then 15 rows of ch 4 loops.

I also added this edge because I like the stitch and also because it makes my pointy edge look more even.
