I want to do the Sophie Hood but I refuse to pay for a poorly written pattern, as that one seems to be from many maker’s comments.

So, I CO 6 stitches so I could do 3 stitches in an I-cord edge. I increased every row 6, at the 4th stitch from the end, until I had 40 stitches, length 24” & width 10”. Then I increased EOR to 50 stitches, length 27.5” & width 12”. I stopped doing the I-cord edge on the increase side since that will be seamed. I did 63 rows, length 9”, then began the hood decreases. I decreased to 40 stitches (19 rows), 4 rows even, then increased back to 50 stitches & & did 63 rows even. Then I started the scarf decreases - knit to 5 stitches from the end, K2tog, yarn front & slip 3 for the I-cord. I-cord on both sides again. Decreased EOR until I had 40 stitches, then decreased every row 6 until I had 6 stitches left. I used the Bickford stitch to close the hood.

For a simple project, it sure took me long enough! It was set aside a number of times, though.
