Made the corner to corner blanket, using Pat Alinejad’s pattern for the blanket & size 10 needles. When I got to the middle, I BO & CO 4 stitches so I could insert the puppy toy I extracted from a Dollar Tree kids scrubby. (I couldn’t bear to cut his head off!) For the BO & CO rows, I did not increase or decrease. Even though I did slip the first stitch on each row, I did a SC edge using a size H crochet hook. For the collar, I CO 57 stitches on size 8 needles. Cute!!
7/9/17 - started another in blues on size 10 needles for the blanket. I only CO 2 stitches to start so I get more of a point on the end. Also, since I crocheted around the edge anyway, I dispensed with slipping the first stitch. This yarn isn’t as soft as the other, so it got soaked in hair conditioner. I CO 54 stitches on size 9 needles for the collar on this one.
7/10/17 - started on a green froggy one using size 10 needles for the blanket & size 8 for the collar (same as the first one). Did not do a crochet edge.
7/12/17 - started a purple one with the Big Lots yarn on size 11 needles. I increased to 50 stitches before decreasing. And I CO 54 stitches on size 9 needles for the collar. Did not do a crochet edge. Mom claimed this one! (Not sure what the animal is supposed to be!)
7/14/17 - started one in purple variegated yarn. CO 2 stitches on size 10 needles. Paired with unidentified animal.
7/17/17 - size 10.5 needles & Cozi yarn with a tan dog. Increased to 52 stitches. CO 54 stitches on size 10 needles for the collar. Very soft.
7/17/17 -size 10 needles & baby acrylic, not enough to do the entire project, so I increased to just 44 stitches before decreasing. This made a small blanket, so I did a SC edge using the white yarn, then did a round of 3 chain long scallops, resulting in a wavy edge. There was enough variegated to cast on 54 stitches on size 8 needles for the collar & do the first 3 rows before I had the o change to white. This one is only 9” x 9” & I paired it with a green flat face frog that came with a baby headband.
7/19/17 - size 11 needles with an unidentified (but probably Red Heart) variegated blue & tan acrylic & blue Caron One Pound, alternating rows side I don’t have enough of the variegated. I increased to 50 stitches & cast off just 3 stitches in the middle. Colors are pretty together. I used a size J crochet hook, I chained around the blanket using the variegated yarn. I CO 42 stitches for the collar.
7/22/17 - size 10.5 needles & Pinata Red Heart. I kinda forgot I was on bigger needles & increased to 60 stitches. This made the blanket 13” x 13”. I used size 9 needles for the collar. Paired with green frog.
7/26/17 - bright colors in this variegated acrylic that has purple, red, blues & green. Size 10.5 needles to be paired with a blue teddy toy.
8/19/18 - CO 2 stitches on size 10.5 needles with the pretty Caron jumbo yarn. I CO 60 stitches on size 9 needles for the collar. For Sykesville dog park fundraiser.
8/21/18 - (Happy 36th anniversary to us!). CO 2 stitches using size 11 needles & Buttercup yarn. Increased to 40 stitches before making the center hole. I used size 9 needles for the collar, using a tan unidentified acrylic. I did a SC edge around the collar with the buttercup & put a tan SC edge around the blanket.
THESE ARE JUST TOO STINKIN’ CUTE!
