I want to more or less copy how I did the Tweedy Owl Mitts. CO 30 stitches & did 1 x 1 ribbing for 3 rounds, 2 rounds of purl, then repeat. Did 8 rounds of SS before the thumb gusset. I KFB, PM for the first increase, then increased every 3rd round until I had 12 stitches for the thumb. I finished the round, put the thumb stitches aside then a lifted increase on the first stitch to get back to 30 stitches. Knit for 20 rounds before just two rounds of top decreases. I K2tog from the front & back needles (magic loop), then changed to the dark gray yarn. I slipped the first stitch of each row WYIF.

For the thumb, I picked up two extra stitches, knit one round, then decreased one stitch the next round. I did 8 rounds total, did a round of K1, K2tog, then K2tog for the final round.
