Notes

Color A - navy
Color B - medium blue
Color C - white

I had to rip back at the front/back split because I failed to change to the Garter Waves pattern KNIT FLAT version. A note in the pattern would be helpful! My own stupidity, but still…

For the front, I did 30 rows of white, 4.5” from split. Then set counter back to zero. Then I did 28 rows for the RS front neck (8” from split - I hate a skimpy armhole).

I want the neck opening for the back to be higher than the front. If I’ve done my math correctly, I should do 46 rows, then start neck decreases.

First I tried to do the pick up & knit for the neckline with the navy yarn & doing a SS only rolled neck. I had picked up 120 stitches & increased to 130 on a subsequent round. It rolled over, showing the backside & the pick up round was sloppy. I ripped it out & then picked up & knit 115 stitches for the neck with the white yarn, knitting TBL for any picked up stitches that were too loose. Then I switched to the navy yarn & knit one round.

Trying every trick in the book to prevent flip, I changed to a size 4 needle & did one round of plain 1 x 1 ribbing. On the next round, I continued with the ribbing, but I picked up the white inside purl bump on every knit stitch. One more round of plain ribbing, then BO in pattern. It doesn’t roll & looks okay, but I really did want a rolled neck. I did the same treatment for the armholes. I picked up 100 stitches for each one.
