Notes

It’s (kinda) like the song says: You wear me right round, baby, right round. It’s a sweater and sometimes it’s upside down.

I may be misremembering the lyrics just a skosh, but probably not.

Dead or Alive: You Spin Me Right Round
Don’t settle for that shitty/sleazy remake that turns the lyrics into thinly veiled and extremely obvious fellatio and/or cunnilingus. Only bands like Vanity 6 or Soft Cell went all the way soft porn in their lyrics and Dead or Alive most certainly wasn’t quite that far into their camp. I LIKE Vanity 6 and Soft Cell (and have their music…..on vinyl!), but don’t be sleazing up school-dance hits from my adolescence. Just don’t.

12-4-15: This is basically done; I just need a closure of some kind at the top/bottom of the V. I’d like to make my own, like bbg041 did her in version of this sweater. I made the sweater to full length, but with a slightly wider band of ribbing, but didn’t like the way it hung, so I took it apart and reknit it shorter, but now it’s TOO short. I’m trying to decide whether or not to pull it apart A-FREAKING-GAIN and finally hit the correct length (halfway between where it was and where it it now, basically), or let it rest until spring comes and try it as is with a camisole top (or similar) under it to cover my belly for when I need to use my arms and the sweater rides up. I have a suspicion that with the correct top, the riding up wouldn’t look or feel weird at all - it would just be part of the design, the way falling off your shoulder is a built-in part of how you wear the wide necks of off-the-shoulder sweaters. It’s just too cold to wear it around the house long enough to find out. Brrr. So it shall rest while I figure out what I want to do. 99.9% done.

FINALLY FREAKING DONE.
