One man in a blue box, poised at the boundary of two great, destructive powers, whose conflict threatens to destroy the entire Universe….in a shawl!

Basic baktus shawl construction: starts at one corner with 4 stitches, 1 stitch increased at same edge every 4 rows, all garter stitch. However, this will be two main yarns: one for Gallifrey and the other for Skaro. One contrasting color will be an intarsia TARDIS overlapping the boundary of where the two main colors meet. TARDIS will be mostly stockinette stitch with (probably) moss stitch details.

HELLA EXPENSIVE project, but my daughter has NO interest in knitwear, so I’m just happy she actually wants something I can make for her. The Gallifrey colorway is obviously Gallifrey; London Blue is obviously the TARDIS; Cardinal stands for the seared and destroyed reddish landscape of Skaro.

8-30-14: Designed and intarsia’ed the TARDIS today, and now working my way down the Skaro side. I made it skinnier so that it would be okay once blocked and the stitches stretch; man, I sure hope it’ll look good.
