Notes

The first project using my Chiaogoo Interchangeables and my first sweater.

October 4, 2021

Picked up and started to knit the neck in a k1 p1 rib for 10 rounds. Tried it on and the neck’s not as deep as I thought it would be, and I’m not ripping the whole sweater back — it’s okay, I’m actually fine with the neck shape (I just thought it would be a teeny bit more scooped), it could be a tighter crew neck and that wouldn’t be okay.

I’ve never made a sweater before and am having a hard time gauging how well it is going to fit at this stage. It looks like a sad mini poncho and I can’t tell if the shoulders are too tight or if the arms will be too big. I just have to trust my math and keep knitting.

Bound the neck off in rib.

Snow day! Knitting the left arm. I probably could have finished a sleeve today if I didn’t second guess myself and do 7 sets of decreases instead of the 5 I planned and ended up with a sleeve that fit really well, but didn’t match the looseness of the sweater. I ripped back to the 5th row of decreases and continued on my way. Finished the day mid bicep.
