This is the blanket I made for my girl for her 27th birthday. It showcases the things in her life for which she has a passion. I designed each block using the Stitchboard software and used various techniques to recreate the design. Around the nine theme blocks are squares with various stripes and shapes.
I used Lamb’s Pride because I think it is an excellent and very versatile yarn. I love the bit of halo it gets from the mohair. It comes in tons of colors. I sourced the yarn from about six different vendors to find the colors I wanted.
The 9 theme blocks showcase Ellie’s favorite book, our dog, Dakota, the Grecourt Gates at Smith College, the Golden Gate Bridge, her initial, a heart representing all who love her and who she loves, Bitcoin, good scotch and bourbon and the Smith College logo.
I am very pleased with how this turned out and I hope she will know how much I love her with every stitch.
