Because I was sad that armholes were so big in size 4, I knit a lot of garter stitches under each arm:

1:pick up 9 st, knit
2:knit until 2 st remaining, kfb, sl last stitch and pick up the stitch of the garter border and ssk
3:slyif, knit until 2 st remaining, kfb, slyif
4: pick up in the garter border and K2tog this stich with first stitch, knit

until you reach the good size
