Notes

Plan: 20” wide towels in color and pattern gamps.
Each block is 2”; 14 colors total
24 epi; 16 dent reed spaced 1-2-1-2
480 ends + 2 2-thread floating selvedges

Scoring: only 8 breaks, only 2 badly threaded heddles.

Towel1 - all tabby
tabby section: weird, Approx 16 picks per inch

Towel 2 - each color row is a different treadling. I have tagged each horizontal and have mapped each verical… I am amazed at the results. and I am not getting bored with the same 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1… footwork!

Did a crazy thing… cut out all the threads of one color so that I could re-thread the heddles. cut them 4 at a time… and rethreaded them before cutting the next 4. I tied them on to another dowel rod and tied that rod to the cloth roller. seems successful but I am still scared to get too excited!

Towel 3 - Still changing treadlings with the change of color… but now, the rule is to used any color that is NOT IN THE WARP… since the warp is happy primaries, these more primitive/Americana colors are letting the patterns POP. Need to remember that… use Dark with BRIGHT.

off the loom 8/15/2013
total of 5 woven yards
5 towels each 20 x 24 before washing…
still need to sew in ends, cut the towels and hem.
