Notes

Named after Spanish-Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet, the father of Catalan Modernism. I studied as an exchange student in his city of Barcelona thirty years ago, and fell in love with his work, most particularly Sagrada Familia cathedral. Gaudi’s style was heavy on freeform embellishment.

It is Gaudi’s style of freeform embellishment that gives us the English word, “gaudy.”

The cowl is made from Merino wool I dyed in greens, blues, yellows and oranges and plied into a 2 x 2 cable with two strings of beads my daughter got for me at the resale store where she works.
