Great pattern. I went wrong a couple of times, but it is very forgiving.
The pattern is well written and there are very useful pictures if you keep the blog open while you do it. I think that there is also a video. I am an intermediate crocheter and I didn’t need anything more than the written pattern because it was easy to follow and the counts accurate.
I added a row of dc (UK terms) when starting the sides, and I didn’t realise that the tr stitches (uk terms) have the WS facing out (it gives the shading and depth to the trellis work). So the first row of tr’s is wrong in my basket - you can’t tell unless you know, I think!
I bought this yarn to make a scarf but it was too scratchy. It has sat in my stash for at least year, waiting for the right project. I used two strands together with a fairly small 6mm hook to get the level of strength needed for a basket that is actually useful.
I love the way this basket actually stands up - a success all round :D
