I wanted to make some rugs for the she-shed now autumn is coming and I always thought CaroCreated’s mandalas could lend themselves to this. I had a ton of Paris in my stash - all bought in sales with no real clue of what I was going to do.
Initially I planned to use double strands but I chickened out - all that overlay with splitting cotton, methinks not!
I ended up with 83cm which is perhaps a bit small, but the sheds quite small and I really want to layer lots of rugs so that’s ok.
The pattern is amazing. Each time I make one of her designs I marvel at how she works it all out. A proper genius.
My only advice is to count, count and keep counting. And to trust the pattern. The pics show exactly where to join the yarn for each round, and where to place the main stitches. Oh, and to work in your ends as you go. The rounds get very big towards the end so it’s no biggie to take a minute or so each time.
