I can’t imagine casting on 273 stitches so I decided to try knitting it from the top down.

Started by casting on 168 stitches and following row 80 as a guide for the ribbing. I ignored the drop stitch symbol in the chart. I plan to pick up and twist a stitch where the symbol was when I was done with the ribbing.

I didn’t do 9 inches of ribbing. I thought it would be too long. I think I did about half.

Since the pattern was for bottom up knitting, there are decreases which I have to convert into increases. Some of the decreases were embedded in the cables. For rows with cables that decreases, I knit a row and increase stitches by picking up a stitch and twisting it where the decrease was indicated. The cable was done in the next row.

I ignored all dropped stitches.
