Notes

I have no idea how much yarn I actually used!

I like the idea that this pumpkin is not solid bobbles. When I have looked at pictures of white pumpkins, the bumps are more random. Still, this is a manufactured pumpkin (crocheted) and so randomness isn’t really a thing yet. Though I am toying with the idea.

The gold glitter thread running through the white yarn sort of glamorizes the pumpkin.

Okay, easy peasy instructions and very quick!

My rectangle is done and I am moving into the shaping and stuffing.

Last row skipped
I didn’t do the last row because I know that when I sew the ends together, it will look too thick in that one section. So, hopefully by eliminating 1 row, it will not be too bad. There is already 1 row of sc on one end, and 3 rows on the last end. Sewing them together will probably make it look like 5 rows. The sewing adds to it.

Stem
I used some unlabeled green variegated yarn for the stem. Ch 13, then randomly 2 or 3 sc in a ch, and 1 sc in a ch. It makes for a strange, squiggly stem!

Pulling the yarn through to make it not round.
I usually just leave one of the ends extra long and pull it through the center of the pumpkin while I add the stuffing. I am not fond of trying to push the needle through the stuffing.

This time, I pushed the needle as far as I could, at an angle and made my way back down to the center bottom. Pulling it tight, I knotted it to secure it and then did the same going back up to the top. I couldn’t push it straight through the center, it was too hard. But pushing it through to the side, then back in and to the side again, until I made it to the bottom and then pulling it tight - that gave me a lumpy pumpkin.
