yep … row 2 of this pattern is a TOTAL guess …

row 2 - put your sh in the next dc, put your beaded V stitch in the next dc. then you are supposed to put in a 6 dc (shell but not called that) in the last stitch .. hhhmm…. there are 4 dc in that first row … i guess the last dc just kind of blends in?

neck hump -
i have been looking at a lot of these projects and a lot of them have neck humps. mine does not. i think it is because the pattern is unclear that she intends for you to put the shell at the end of each row. with the increases at the ends .. no neck hump.

placing shell into bead stich errata -
i am messing around with different ways to crochet the shell around the bead. it doesn’t make any sense to me to anchor the bead tightly and then try to loosen it up by crocheting into the same stitch.

will post pictures of the modified stitch that i did.
i broke up the 5 dc shell into 2 smaller shells of 3 dc and placed each one in the corner of the beaded V stitch.

TOTALLY no hump when you don’t work into the V stitch.

i just did this to play around with theories about why a neck hump … maybe i will actually make the shawl some other time.
