Tutorial

I am not sure how big I want to make this. Since i can really only do about 2 a day, its going to take me over a year for sure! I am not stuffing mine, hence why I am calling it hexiflats :)

Sept 19, 2011 - Started, did 2, and planned some yarn for more.

Sept 20, 2011 - up to 4 now. I think i may try and design some patterns for inside the hexiflats to make some of the solid colored ones that I am making more interesting.

November 11, 2011 - I am working on a bunch of mini skeins including dyeing some of my own this weekend. I have skeined well over 100 skeins, some to share and some for myself. I am also up to 16 flats!!

Nov 13, 2011 - I am now up to 27 flats, making 11 in the last 2 days, 5 of which are my own hand dyed.

Nov 23, 2011 - 65 flats and counting, I am steadily working on them as much as I can. Things will slow down once dec 1 comes along as I will be working on a few other things as well.

Dec 7, 2011 - Finished #100 tonight! Yippee!! Now I think I will start attaching and see how it goes. I want it to be fairly random, I may have to borrow a little person to help me be random…lol…with my attaching otherwise I may become a tad obsessed with color arrangement!

Dec 8, 2011 - Started attaching now that I have reached 100, and oh my is it tons of fun. I attached a couple to start just by tying them with the ends out, and I decided that I didn’t like it, not only that but i think my cat would have a field day with all of those ends sticking out. So I opted for what i call loop and running stitch attaching. I will add a tutorial to my youtube channel search for Sheepwokking, so that if you want to be attaching that way you can!! I have attached 60 so far, rather quickly i might add, and have knitted 2 more tonight, so my count is 102!

I have lots to keep me going for a while that is for sure. I have had to take a little break while my hand heals up but I will be back at it soon. I miss my puffing! I think I will be knitting some more before I do more attaching this way i can truly keep the randomness of the attaching going as I have doubles right now of everything that need attaching.

Its been a while since I updated this page. I took a little hexi vacation while I worked on other things but now I am back at it and here are my counts…
Mini Skein Count left to knit is 230
Hexipuff Knitted count right now is 202
Hexipuff Sewn together count is 200
I am done buying mini skeins that is for sure. at least until I knit up all of this!! I have had a ton donated to me from friends etc as well. I think I have enough to to reach beyond my first goal of 500

Well its over a year since i started this wondrous project. I have missed a few months of puff knitting due to christmas knitting and a few sales that I have coming up with my jewelry business.
Here are my counts today…
Mini Skein Count left to knit is 195
Hexipuff Knitted count is 274
Hexi puff sewn together count is still 200…lol
Hey atleast my mini skein count is going down and my puff count is going up…lol

I’m not feeling good today so I am curled up on the couch knitting Puffs, I was able to complete 17 while in Vegas, most of which was done on our extended not by choice trip home…lol.
