Notes

Waiting on the yarn for this is excruciating!

I’m going to be using the MS loom with the 3/8” gauge. No idea how many pegs yet. I’ll probably be making 10cmx10cm squares.

I’ve not actually read the Double Vision pattern but I think I get the gist of it. I’ll be making a few changes; loom instead of needles, squares instead of L blocks.
I’m using this project, HyotenkaVicky’s Double Vision as inspiration in terms of yarn selection and shrinking the blanket down from 10 colours to 7.

Better get onto it pronto, Nettle will be here in 8 weeks!

19/6 - FINALLY received yarn. Never had the Royal Air Mail service be this slow before. Casting on immediately as I’m paranoid I wont get this done in time.

Note to self: 14pegs, yarn held double.
Double e-wrap cast on. Sk1, ptlp, hs1. Sk1, ktlp, hs1. About 30-33 rows per square so far. Haven’t decided on bind off. Crochet bind off looked okayish.

29/6 - All the Magenta squares are done, yay! Only 6 more colours to go…

2/9 - About halfway there. I still feel like I’m racing the clock here. Hopefully Nettle wont come early!

Added photos of what I’ve done so far. Way behind after being down with the flu for a couple of weeks.

Rushing to get this done as I’ve been told I have carpal tunnel surgery on the 25th of Sept so that kind of cut my deadline much closer.

Only 10-15 more squares to go. Started stitching the squares together and I’m really not happy with my seaming. It’s something I really need to work on in future but because of the time constraints currently I might find a nice colourful fabric to line the messier side of the blanket. Also means I don’t have to weave in all my ends perfectly, which would be great.
One day they’ll genetically engineer flying monkeys to seam and weave in the ends of your knitted projects for you. That’s the dream.

Finished off all the squares yesterday but I only realised at 11pm tonight that I haven’t seamed the last two rows together!

Quickly trying to get it done before my operation in the morning. Why do I always leave things until the last minute?!

08-10-2015

Added a photo of completed blanket. It’s a cloudy day, so the colours are a bit off. I’ll be taking a new photo in natural light if I get the chance before it’s gifted.
