It’s near the end of winter and I’m sick of my head being cold every time I’m out at night so I’m making a simple, thin little scruffy hat that I can keep in a jacket pocket for when it starts raining/freezing.

I figured a wool blend with either alpaca or possum for warmth and in a neutral tone as not to clash with every other colour I wear.

The Quince and Co. Owl yarn was a little rough in the skein but it’s already starting to soften as I knit with it. It’s got a bit of rustic charm to it. I wish I had picked a slightly darker colour but this just gives me the excuse to buy more yarn next time.

The pattern is a pretty mindless k2, p2 ribbing for the brim then k till bind off. Boring but simple enough to knit while holding engrossing conversation or laughing at GIFs of kids doing crazy shit with your loved one. <3
