Notes

My best friend is having her second little girl in October and I’m going a little baby crazy and wanting to knit ALL THE THINGS. I’ve ordered yarn for her baby blanket but couldn’t stand waiting so decided to make a jacket to tide me over until the yarn gets here.

Nettle is going to be a spring/early summer baby and I figured her parents would want something they can just chuck in the washing machine with the rest of the baby clothes so I chose to use my lovely soft, bright Stylecraft acrylic. I’ve been looking to make this yarn into something for ages - it’s so soft and crazy bright.

From memory, I used the MS loom with 40 blue pegs for the back piece and 20 pegs for the two front panels and the two sleeves. Double e-wrap cast on and just a basic garter stitch for each piece. Seamed with some left over yarn.
I was going to add buttons but was a little concerned about them being a choking risk so I left it up to the parents discretion on whether they want buttons or not.

My friend is such a sweetheart and says she loves it. I was in such a rush to give it to her that I forgot to take any photos. Guess I’ll have to take some in October. :)
