09/08/11 - Scooter bought me this yarn during my New England vacation - and though soccer is not in my top favourites of sports, it does hold a special place in my heart as I played it quite a bit as a kid.
This yarn is apparently the “Paris” colourway, and I’m excited to see how it stripes.
I did a Rav search for what others knit with this special yarn - put out by Regia for the 2010 World Soccer cup, and this pattern caught my eye!

12/24/11 - I woke this project up after a few months of sleeping … I had originally intended to start the heel after 38 rows, but after pulling it out today I decided to do more, and am starting the heel after 57 rows (in the pattern).

Pattern Notes:

• 57 Rows in the leg (after the cuff)
• 32 Rows in the foot (after finishing the gusset decreases)

12/29/11 - The socks are now complete! Photos will be added after a blocking when I get home. I love this pattern and I can’t wait to make it again and again. The only change I would make is to make them a bit bigger, so the cuff isn’t as tight. For the next time, I will change the cast on to 64, and add a stitch on each end of the pattern (making it: k3, yo, k3, ssk, k2tog, k3, yo, k3).
