Similar to the Big Herring Bone Cowl as seen at the Purl Bee blog: http://www.purlbee.com/big-herringbone-cowl/ I plan to make this very long cowl so I can wrap it. It should be 58” in total when I’m done and then I’ll sew it together.

I am using size 6 needles, and Malabrigo lace in colorway black forest. I’m using the lace pattern to make a honeycomb.

Afterthought note for next time: When I sewed the stitches together on both sides it made a huge seam (icky). Next time, Sharon recommended that I do a provisional cast on so I can kitchener the stitches together in the end to make it into a tube. I think this is a brilliant idea.

Cast on was 66 stitches. (same as the yellow one made for gramma)

Begining border of 2 garder stitches rows were made.

Row 1: k5, k2, (yo, k2tog, k2) * repeat until 7 stitches left. k7

Row 2: same exact as row 1.

Row 3: k5, k4 (yo, k2tog, k2) repeat until 9 stitches left, k9

Row 4: same exact as row 3

Then repeat starting more sets of rows 1-4

End border of a couple rows of garter stitch was also made.
