I bought this yarn years ago and started the sweater but am finishing it now for a friend’s newly adopted son. Patricia Roberts was a rock star designer back then and I bought this at her store in London. The yarn was way beyond my budget but I was smitten by her designs. The color is absolutely a brilliant orangey gold. The pattern dates back to 1988 and the shape is very boxy but it will fit him like a sweatshirt and I’m putting appliques of Disney characters around the midsection. 17 oct 20 - just discovered Nico is crazy about dinosaurs so I’m using Dino appliqués instead.

If anyone were to choose this pattern, I’d say the cable pattern is a bit of a challenge to follow because it’s strictly text but it comes out looking really nice. I ended up making a chart to check off rows to keep from losing my place.

The yarn (if it’s still sold) is gorgeous and the color saturation fabulous.
