To check gauge, chain a multiple of 18+1 and your first row of hdc’s should be a multiple of 18.

The length you chain is the length front+back of the garment.

I needed to use a 4mm for DK, 3.75mm for Sport and 3.5mm for the mohair and achieving just over 2 inches per repeat.

I have chained additional repeats to allow for the reduced gauge, so 18 repeats instead of 14, it’s still quite cropped but not too short for me.

Definitely use stitch makers to mark your LNX on the first set up of each yarn, after that it’s easier to stack them on top of each other.

I’ve left an opening of 27 chains for the neckline, 9 at back, 18 at front.

I didn’t follow the instructions at the bottom of pg 119 when I started the second shoulder, I worked across with Yarn A, then chained over the gap for the neck opening and continued, I don’t think you need to chain across separately beforehand (I haven’t)

I’m working a Qtr of the first row of each yarn in the second shoulder to attach it down at the neckline so it anchors the yarn at the corner of the neck and mirror matches the first shoulder.

Adding stitch markers to the length I’ve chained so I know where to place the LNX on the second repeat.

I love this top so much I’m thinking about the colours for the next one already.
