Papa never asks for anything knit, although he appreciates all the time and love that goes into my creations. I showed him this sweater and he LOVED it…

So, I had to say I would knit it for him. We ordered the yarn after doing careful measurements, but when the yarn arrived and I cast on for the necessary gauge swatches, nothing I did would give me gauge.

I discovered it is actually a LIGHT WORSTED/DK not a worsted weight like the original Cascade 220. Heartbroken, I took my troubles to the ladies in my Kreations by Kristi group, and after some amazing help, I finally was able to cast on tonight and am working the ribbing at the bottom after teaching myself a new cast on.

6/28/18- Finally bound off where necessary to begin armhole shaping. Since I am technically doing this in one piece, I grabbed 2 more balls of yarn and attached them to the other pieces so I can just work each section as I get to it. Now to work my way to 11 inches so I can go to the next step!

10/1/18- It is finally off the needles. I am awaiting the buttons to arrive so I can put them on, and then it will get a nice soak and dry. Once that is accomplished, I can get some modeled photos.
