In garb at the Ren Faire this belt pouch is perfect for keeping my phone handy and hidden.

Make a semicircle in single crochet such as https://www.ehow.com/how_12080453_crochet-semicircle.html. Make it big enough so that the flat edge is the width of your phone; set aside. Chain, or single-crochet chainless foundation, also to the width of your phone. Working in-the-round, sc around perimeter of foundation row, adding 1 sc at each end to form an oval. Continue sc around forming an oval tube, deep enough for your phone to fit completely inside tube. Flatten piece. Working in rows just on half the sts, sc from one end of opening to the other. Sc rows until strap is about 8 inches, or longer as desired. Cut yarn leaving a tail for sewing. Sew together flat edge of semicircle and edge of strap. To give row edges a smooth finish, sc down side of strap, around semicircle, and up other side of strap. Fold strap over front of case so that tip of semicircle reaches halfway down length of case. At 2 inches from the fold, sew across to form belt loop. Weave in ends.
