Notes

This time I went the smaller hook for the finer yarn. The central heart buckled quite badly in the first two rows, although I could smooth it out by hand.

I’d recommend using a stitch marker for the start of the row until you get to the first lace row around the heart.

This square is to be part of a healing blanket - a collaborative effort, and had to be either 10cm or 20cm, so I changed my outer two rows, plus some other minor changes to make the square sit better. I hook tight.

Here are my changes:
Row 7: when you get to the second corner, I made it (2 quadruples - chain 3 - 2 trebles). I found that made the corners sit better.

Row 9: I made it 8 chain to start with (3 for the DC and 5 for the corner instead of 2 for the DC and 3 for the corner). I found the corner worked better then.

Row 10: I made up. I started in any ch sp with a standing stitch DC (or you can join and chain 3), ch2, DC -this is the same v-stitch as the row before, and I worked them in the chain spaces of the row before. For the corner, I did the following DC, ch1, DC, ch 3, DC, ch1, DC then continue working in the ch spaces of the row before.

Row 11: I made up. Work 1sc in every DC from round 10, and 2SC in every chain space. Corners: 1sc, ch3, 1sc.

This then gave a square of 20cm.

The dark colour used is charcoal, not purple, I just can’t get it to show right in the pictures. I hope this helps people. <3
