Notes

9-24-13 - Made a whole motif to start to make sure I liked it finished. Very nice pattern. Not sure I like the last row of single crochet around the whole hexagon. Looking at the finished afghan photos, it just adds more lines. I haven’t decided if I’m going to leave it off or not.
Traveled this past weekend so I brought it with me. It takes 10 min to make the inside white snowflake once you know the pattern. Started making them on Saturday and finished on Monday. 59 done. I hope I keep up the pace. Now to decide if I should add the single crochet around each one in the royal blue. Maybe I’ll stay true to the pattern. I really want to make this in a deep red and white too!

For the half hexagon pattern…

Took this from SweetGumMinis and made adjustments as I went along. I also added single crochets along the edge to help out later when adding an edge. Good guide though! In one of the pictures, mine is in the middle with a full snowflake to the upper and SweetGumMinis is below. I made 8 of the middle half motifs.

9/25/13
Starting to add the blue today. Takes About 20 min for each one.

10/19/13
Put on hold for a while so I could work on the baby blue Aspen for a fundraiser. 1/2 of the motifs have blue on them now

10/28/13. 7 more motifs to go. i also have to figure out how i want to do the half motifs.

11/2/13 finished putting blue on all the full motifs and half motifs today. Started putting it together. Yeayyyy

11/4/13. Finished sewing together the 9 strips. Now sewing the strips together.

11/11/13. All panels are sewn together…just the edging is left.

11/18/13. Started the edge last week and had to rip it out, wrong color. Finished it up tonight and sewed in the last trailing ends. Ready in plenty of time for the Dec 10th decoration swap. Hope it’s a hit
