Notes

i used the lemon peel stitch (sc, dc, sc, dc…).
i manipulated tension to get 35 stitches in each color. each row was 34 stitches across. as far as color count, i counted each individual stitch separately. sc was one stitch. dc was one stitch. i did not count the sc/dc as one for color count.

for those doing planned pooling- if you want to make a bigger piece like a blanket-
(this is one color across out of 10 colors and measures 10 inches across.)
for ease, start with a solid color yarn for the starting chain. i used black.
make as many colors across as big as you want your blanket to be, plus or minus one stitch. if you make 5 out of 10 colors, that will give you a half sequence zig zag. 10 out of 10 colors is a full sequence. any other increment out of 10 (1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9) will give you the look that i have here, where the different colors stack on top of each other.

I was making a swatch but i can’t rip it out, so i’m turn it into a bag for lola. the bag will be almost 15” wide when complete.

6/24- i finished my long rectangle (10” x 30”), but when folding the piece, it wasn’t centered. i decided to go a few inches longer on the end, then take a few inches off of the beginning (approximately 6 rows from the beginning). I did this by crocheting around the legs of each stitch of row 7 by yarn over, insert hook into both chains of the legs, and sl stitching. i repeated this for each stitch until then end. then i snipped row 6 and pulled the excess yarn away.

6/25- i lined the piece with a rainbow tie dye butterfly cotton fabric that lola picked out.
measure twice, cut once. measure twice, cut once. OOPSIE! it’s been a long day… i cut the fabric an inch short in the long direction. so i did some piecing together with my extra fabric to fix it.
i hemmed the fabric and machine sewed it into the crochet piece. i folded my sides, lined everything up, and seamed the folds.
instead of making the strap in short rows, i wanted to make it long ways so the rows of solid color would pool. i started with chain in black then the lemon peel stitch in red. i ended at blue. the strap measured 10” x 3”.
i edged the bag v and strap with solid black.

i am in love with this bag!!!!!
