my modifications:

i did an extra row on the bottom of the helmet and all the way around and slip stitch in my first sc of that last row.

i thought that the original pattern face didn’t look much like vader, so i stitched the mask features on, didn’t put eyes on him, and didn’t crochet the mouth piece.

instead of using a piece of felt or fabric for the cape, i crocheted it. here is the pattern:
1) ch30. sc in each st across (29). ch1, turn.
2) sc2tog, sc in each sc across (28). ch1, turn.
continue the decrease pattern in row 2 until the top of the cape fits on the top of the shoulder on one arm across the top to the other.
