7/15/18
i started the base puff stitches with the ice cream yarn. after a few rows, i realized that i wasn’t going to be able to cover that starting edge, so i ripped it out and started over with a solid white.
9/8/18- started skein 3
9/14/18- got the white to the corner and realized that the blanket was going to be too long if i tried to match it to the beginning. i cut the yarn and will determine what to do in the morning.
9/15/18- I’ve decided that it is still too long even though i stopped. i also don’t like how the blanket isn’t centered. i want it to be symmetrical. the beginning has to match the ending point. if i fold it in half, i want each side to mirror each other. so i decided to take 6 inches off of the beginning (9 rows) to match the end.
i tried one method of a chain by sc through the first eye then making 3 chains until the next eye, however, it didn’t mimic the jasmine stitch and i wasn’t happy with it.
take 2-
i did this by making a separate and new “foundation” chain of puff stitches on top of the existing rows 9 and 10. i had to crochet through each and every stitch on row 10 in order to anchor it to the new yarn so it won’t unravel when i cut row 9. after that, i made a border all the way around with the same solid white yarn.
i then cut the yarn on row 9 and hoped for the best. i pulled back the yarn on row 9, and as i hoped, the new “foundation” row was a success.

I’m a tad disappointed at the marin county fair as seeing that this was the coolest thing I’ve ever made. i was hoping it would place higher.
