alright. i’m getting creative with the ombre yarn. you know how much i love those long colorways.
i’m making a blanket for a co-worker and planned on doing 6 panels of corner to corner (C2C) join as you go (jaygo). when i got the the end of my first panel, (7” x 56”) i cut the yarn and joined to start a new panel. it matched up almost perfectly! happy accident!!!therefore, i will be continuing in this manner and making a planned pooling chevron pattern for the remainder of the blanket, joining the new skein where the last skein left off.
yarn is red heart super saver ombre in the colorway sweet treat. i plan on using 5 skeins.

someone asked how i connect them-
on every strip of c2c, you can connect with join as you go at either the beginning corner or ending corner. I connect wherever is the most convenient in my yarn. i don’t like to cut or waste.
go to photo with check mark-
this is 3 strips. I’m working on the 3rd now. when I am done with it, I’ll be able to connect the next one where the check mark is or on the ending corner of the right one i’m currently working on (top right corner- not shown). I have 5 skeins so I check each of them either from the inside or outside to see which one would be the best to start with depending on where the colors are. when i had to attach my second skein, i only need to cut about 5 feet of one section of color which I’ll save for later in case i need it.

I finished today! i had a very difficult time with the border since the panels were not very straight after i joined them (i joined them as i went). i stretch it out with pins for photos. hopefully after i wash it, the threads will loosen up.
border is 2 rows of a block stitch in charcoal.
