This is a very cute summer cardigan with a great fit! Though straight up and down, the slip stich pattern has some stretch in it, making the cardigan look really fitted. One of my best knits this summer.

I cast on using a provisional cast on (first time ever), as I was considering to add a garter stich border at the bottom similar to the button band and the neckline. The first time I cast on I used 3,5 mm needles and my knitting tighter than the gauge swap (as the size is slightly large for me) but this did not look well with the slip stitch pattern. I decided to knit a size L rather than M (I am in between) using 4 mm needles. Even then my knitting was a bit tight. If you decide to make this, make sure to do a gauge swatch, as it is harder to obtain a proper gauge w. a slip stitch pattern.

I used Rowan Purelife Revive in the colour Flint (blue). The pattern called for a Purelife Cotton DK yarn in ‘medium indigo’ as a background … the later no longer available. I ordered the Sublime yarn instead, as it appeared close in colour and yardage. The Sublime yarn is a mix of cotton and Kapok and soft and squishy, but I worried at first that it was too dark. Found no alternative so went with it anyway …

Should I have had a lighter background colour, the colour ‘Gingham’ from Sublime would have been a great alternative I believe.
