Hoping for newborn size

Main Colour = natural
3.5mm needle
German Twisted Cast On 80 sts
1 x 1 rib = 2cm
Do a German Short Row stitch and turn, so the wrong side of the rib (which is neater) is now showing on the right side.

4.00mm needle
Knit 2 rows, increasing 1 st = 81sts

Do CHART Rows:
12 & 13 = black for legs

14, 15, 16 = white for sheep bodies

17, 18, 19 = do faces in MC. Then duplicate stitch the faces in different colours when finished knitting the beanie.

20,21,22

Continue in MC only
Knit until work measures 10cm, decreasing 3 stitches = 78sts

Place a SM every 13 sts. (gives 6 sections)

DECREASES:
1) K2 tog, knit to 2 sts before SM, SSK
2) Knit
Repeat rows 1 & 2 until 18 sts remain
K2 tog all around.
Cut the yarn leaving a tail, thread onto tapestry needle and pull through the remaining loops.

Duplicate stitch faces onto each sheep.

Duplicate stitched 3 of the faces on the sheep green, to match the Mem Fox book ‘Where is the Green Sheep?’ The other colours for the rest of the faces were chosen by the big brother and sister of the upcoming baby.

As usual, Peppermint Crisp used for scale!rolling_on_the_floor_laughing
