Love the gossamer like quality of this.
Restarted several times due to poor yarn choice and general inertia. Last restart in earnest in March 2020.
Body:
Always just worked the charts right to left for uneven rows, left to right for even rows.
Edging:
- knit outer stitch as ktbl on all rows
- space out corners over 2+1 corner stitch+2 for one repeat
- work 4 middle stitches as smoked stitch as described (aka 3+1)
- shorter edges: 1 pattern repeat picking up every stitch (give a bit more give to the corner), 7 repeats picking app 2 out of 3 stitches, 1 pattern repeat again on every stitch, leaving 2 for next corner (see above)
- excluding corner ‘points’ - 35 points along long sides and 9 along the short ones. 88+4 in total
number 5 in 2020
blocked to 52cm width and 190cm length
A word on the pattern: I pay for patterns for some help and indication on things to be figured out, like recommended yardage and gauge for rounding the corners, or how many stitches to pick up not along the rows, but along the stitches ‘against the grain’. Should you expect that, it’s barely there….
New yarn: silk linen cobweb in lighter green. Let’s see….
Nope, not working in this yarn (darker green tussah silk cobweb). I’ll choose something else, and until then, this is hibernating….
