I’m taking the liberty to modify slightly as I’m using two colours on this one - I think the design is perfect for a different colour edging. So a slightly morbidly romantic version it is ;-)
Body in Julia’s Death, border in Valentine colour.
I started this using Chiaogoo bamboo needles, as it was supposed to be plane knitting. These new needles were the worst ever: rough at the tips and it only got worse with wear. A horrid combination with the single ply Tussah Silk.
I was too stubborn and too afraid of changing the fabric by switching needles, until the project had come to a complete standstill for more than a month. Then I finally caved and chucked the needles. Once I started with my Red Lace, knitting was back to being a breeze. And: the change is barely noticeable. I should have done it way earlier.
A note on the pattern: it’s a nice idea, and obviously the designer has put a lot of thought into it. Fleshing it out a bit more might be beneficial.
For future reference: swatch needle size for icord. For me, this did not work out and did not stabilize the upper edge.
