I had to make so many mods to this pattern because I just did not have enough yarn and the yarn was an aran weight, not worsted. I like the end results but boy was it stressful playing yarn chicken!

Mods:

• Followed wait shaping decreases but changed the underarm increases. I didn’t want the large amount of fabric under the arm.

• Underarm increases as follows: Worked increase round then knit 3 rnds. Repeat these 4 rounds 8 times (or until work measures 14” long).

• I didn’t want long sleeves either as I didn’t have enough yarn so I only cast-on 25 sts on each arm. I just made an intelligent guess and hoped for the best and it turned out right. Woohoo! Lucky!

• Had to do a bit of maths to work out the placement of the bind off for the neckline and collar because I had different number of sts on my needles. But I kept the same number of sts for the bind-off as per the pattern.

• I added 2 extra rows to the stockinette when knitting the upper front ie 27 rows, instead of 25 rows. I was worried the sleeves would be too narrow as I used thinner yarn if I didn’t add these 2 rows. I was running really low on yarn and didn’t match it on the back. So the back is slightly shorter than the upper front. Oh well. Not obvious.
