Bought the pattern on discount, after pattern testing one of Emily’s other fidget toys.
Wanting to make this like the original ‘Snake’ game … hence the slightly boring dark green colour (with maybe a splash of lime - I haven’t decided yet) … but definitely glow-in-the-dark green & yellow pony beads.
Had some animal-type safety eyes, which I painted myself - glitter nail varnish, topped with neon lime green.
Struggled a bit with the 2nd row of beads, because if I go into the sts mentioned in the pattern, my beads are not immediately above the previous row of beads. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but I needed to change that row to be ‘ch1, turn. (Hdc bead, hdc) x4’.
Edit that doesn’t work - it’s very difficult to slst into the 1st bead st. So i just had to adapt & create a st in the slst (which is hard to find!!)

Found some more glow-in-the-dark yellow beads, but they’re slightly shinier than my original ones. Frogged again to reposition beads, so I can alternate old/new/old/new and then change it to new/old/new/old for the next bead row.
Final beads for tail:
Need 10, had 7 old, multiple new.
Added 5 old, then new/old/new/old/new.
Decided to put a couple of pipe cleaners in, so I could manipulate its shape a bit more. Wish I’d done it as I was crocheting though, as it was incredibly hard to push them through. Used a very long doll needle in the end, but it was still hard to do - because I had to put the needle through eye first so it didn’t catch on the yarn. Ended up with a bit of the pipe cleaner peeping out of the mouth - so I left it as a tongue ;)
Really happy with the end result!!
Olive yarn: 51.4g / 40.74g / (used 11g)
Didn’t use the lime green for the snake (used it for the apple instead)
