Pattern test for Emily Nigro
@Willow.AndWild on IG - my 3rd fidget spider.
#2025PatternTest : 27
Used Rico Creative Bubble, which is usually used for scrubbies (and I use it for eyelashes) … a sort of short eyelash yarn (tried a longer eyelash yarn and it was a disaster!!)
In retrospect, silver was probably not the best colour, as it doesn’t stand out from the silver tinsel yarn used for staging in the photo. And the pony beads are too similar to the eyes :(
Needed MANY stitch markers!!! Even for sc sts. Mark the sc st which is the start of each leg, plus the final sl st of each leg, plus the st immediately following the leg. Fir this yarn, I needed a stit h marker in EACH st. Every. Single. One.
Also do the chains for Leg1 VERY loosely! These legs were better than my first two.
Made sure I did the beads on the back VERY loosely (“inline”, so that they lie flat), so that they didn’t stick out like the pink ones on my first spider.
Stitch marker key:
Yellow: sc
Red: start of round
Lt blue: final slst of leg
Blue: 1st sc of 1st leg
Purple: 1st sc of 2nd leg
Orange: 1st st after leg
Pink: sc bead
