Creating a separate entry for the cheesecake(s) and the ombré cake (as the patterns are sold separately), but keeping the notes and won’t update the yarn quantities listed, as they’ve already been adjusted within my ‘joint’ project.

Started the base, using 2 strands of laceweight coned beige.

Finished the biscuit base. Started on the cylinder side.
Final round of cheesecake top:
Instead of an invisible st to finish & cut yarn, I pulled the yarn through front to back to finish invisibly that way and then, rather than cutting the yarn, I did a slst into the 1st BLO. Then continued as per pattern. It seems to look the same as it would have done by cutting the yarn as per pattern. Will suggest this as an alternative.
R1 of cylinder:
Used a 2mm hook to make sure tension was tight. I’d tried it with the same 2.5mm hook and it didn’t ‘stand up’ as much as pattern required it to.

Redid the cheesecake with Drops 7.
Got more colours in Drops 7 to do the chocolate (from @LittleWoolShop.Com on IG).

Used 2 strands of DMC stranded embroidery thread along with 45 Bright Sand for the cookie biscuit base.

Made 1st strawberry (used 1 strand each of red Yeoman & red El Dorado - or did I?? I can’t remember!).
Added chocolate drizzles to cheesecake top - seemed to take ages because I was fart-arsing around with perfection!!
When I was sewing the biscuit base to the cylinder, I put stitch markers on every 9th st on the cylinder and a matching st marker on every 8th one on the biscuit base. That way I knew where I’d need to do an extra sewing st (2 sts in one) on the base.

Sewed the base to the sides.

Chocolate drizzle for cheesecake v1 (later changed this to strawberry).

Decided to add a piece of plastic around the sides as well, to give extra stability. That allowed more stuffing to be added, to give height to pack out the base without making the sides bulky.
Also made the plastic circle for the base a little larger than the top, so that the crochet circle base would stretch when it was sewn to the cylinder sides (I found on my first 2, the base wasn’t quite as flat).

Comments weren’t visible to the designer, created another copy then the original comments disappeared for me too!! Spent the late afternoon/evening recreating them. Aaargh!!

Continued on with (and finished) the strawberry wedge, using red Yeoman & red Southern Maid. Used Pearl for the embroidery.
Leaves: using 30 Bottle Green.
Changed drizzles for v1 of the mini cheesecake to red / strawberry (decided 2 chocolate ones would be a bit boring!)

Sewed the seeds onto the strawberry half and wedge with yellow embroidery thread doubled. Took ages!!
