Finally decided to try sock knitting and was recommended this book which is excellent! There are loads of lovely patterns in it but I didn’t want to run before I can walk so decided on this basic pattern (I liked this because one of the options is Judy’s Magic Cast on which I am comfortable with) and chose some stripy yarn. The yarn was purchased online and isn’t quite as nice a colourway as I was hoping but it’s great to knit and feels sturdy.

SO far so good. I’m onto the final straight on the first sock and hoping it’s easy enough to match the stripes on the second.
