Some new clothes for Pixie (to wear with her Little Red Dress). The wrap top was made from a single mini-skein of semi solid yarn from the Knitting Goddess and the
trousers were made from a striped Knitting Goddess mini-skein with some plain cream 4 ply I had at home in order to make the most of the striped yarn.
The top was knit in one piece from the back and used up almost the whole mini-skein on size 3mm needles. I used a 3mm hook for the edging and to make it into a wrap top with the addition of button holes (one on the outside and one inside). Stitch counts are on the sketch pictured.
The trousers were made from the bottom-up, with 3.25mm DPNs and 30 sts on each leg. After joining the legs onto a circular needle knit a few rows with all 60 sts using magic loop and with the sts split evenly with 30 to the front needle and 30 to the back needle/cable.
Forgot to note the decreases down, but I think it was as follows:
ON BOTH SIDES (front & back): K2tog, knit to last 2, K2tog
Next row - knit all
ON BOTH FRONT & BACK: k2tog, k4, K2tog to last 6 and repeat at end of that side
Next row - knit all
ON BOTH SIDES: K2, K2tog, K4, K2tog to last 10, K2tog, K4, K3tog, K2
Next row - knit all
The last 4 rows before b/o, the yarn was held double with shirring elastic - an experiment which worked out well.
I’d hoped to edge the trousers with some of the purple skein but there was not enough left over. I may come back and edge it with something else, I think there is another mini-skein in a very similar colour.
