Notes

10/12

  • I’m using size 10 needles instead of 10.5 - because that’s what I have : )

10/15

  • I used some knitting needles (size 15) for the handles that my dad made for me many years ago out of dowel rods. I just need to find some small wooden balls to glue on the end to make it look more finished.

10/17

  • Decided to line bag - used patterned fabric on the inside lining, and used plain khaki fabric for the outside of the lining (the knitted pattern has small gaps that look funny with the wrong side of the lining showed through, so I wanted something solid if the bag stretched and you could see through the gaps). Machine sewing onto the garter stitch straps was a disaster so I had to hand sew - the results look so much better, but it took forever!
  • I used almost the entire skein of yarn.

10/19

  • LOVE this bag.
  • Added a button and flap to keep closed when carrying. LOVE!

11/5

  • Friend called it “granny” because it looked like an old crochet pillow on her grandmother’s couch. (Grumble, grumble) I still love the bag.

11/27

  • Husband glued wooden balls onto the ends of the knitting needles = big improvement!
