I had this set of four yarns I wanted to use. Here’s what I did:

Used color 1 for the first two colors as written in pattern (sections 1-4 and color melt in section 5).

Continued on with pattern as written, until section 7. Here, early on, I did the decrease shaping change after I had increased up to only 207 stitches (as opposed to the 233 in the pattern). Because of that, the stitch counts were off and I had to fudge some things in the lace sections after. But it wasn’t hard…just making sure the YO eyelets weren’t right over top of each other, etc.

I knitted with my fourth color through section 11, but when I would have started the lace for section 12, I was already so close to being done (mine was narrower because I didn’t increase as much, see above) that I just kept on with the garter until the bind off.

It is somewhat smaller than the original, but still very large!
