I made the 0-3 months size and it worked up pretty quickly! This hat is so stinkin’ cute, great pattern.
After the last row, I added two more rows -- one row of hdc and a row of sc. I just wanted the hat a little longer. I also 'lined' the bottom edge with Bernat Baby Blanket yarn since RHSS can be a little rough.

I modified the eye in the pattern and kinda made it my own. Here’s what I did..

1 With black, make magic ring; sc 6 into ring. Join w/sl st to first sc & fasten off --attach brown yarn in same space as sl st (6 sts)

2 (working over tail of black yarn) ch 1, 2 hdc in each st. across. Join w/sl st. to first hdc & fasten off --attach white yarn in same space as sl st (12 sts)

3 (working over tail of brown yarn) ch 1, 1 dc in same st as join, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st rpt from * to end. Join w/sl st to first dc DON’T fasten off (18 sts)

4 Ch 1, sc in same st as join, 1 sc in next st 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next two sts rpt from *to end. Join w/sl st & fasten off -- attach grey yarn in same space as sl st(24 sts)

5 Ch 1, sc in same st as join and in each st across. Join w/sl st to first sc (24sts)

6 Ch 1, (working in FLO front loops only) sc in same st as join and in each st across. Join w/sl st to first sc (24 sts)

Fasten off and leave long tail to sew onto hat.
