Notes

Wow! I’m so happy with the way this turned out! A friend sent me two images in an email of a jacket that she liked, no pattern was a available so we improvised a design, with inspiration from the images.
My friend chose the colours, some were readily available via Bendigo Woollen Mills etc but some of the colours didn’t seem to exist in the yarn I knew of, so I dyed it myself to the specific colours we wanted (just in case you’re wondering the colours I hand dyed are the bright green and coral colours).
As far as the actual crocheting goes in this jacket, there is nothing too technical or difficult. The shaping/sizing of the “skirt” part of the jacket was done by using various sizes of crochet hook. I did some simple shaping on the sleeve caps.
The crochet elements of this jacket didn’t take too long, but weaving in ALL THOSE LITTLE YARN ENDS took FOREVER! LOL
Also, instead of crocheting the squares together, like I normally would with “granny squares”, I stitched them together with a needle and the dark green yarn. I did this because I wanted the joins to be as flat and smooth as possible :-)

The finished piece weighed approximately 1kg :-)
