Notes

All the yarn for this project, except 2 colors, is coming from the Knit Picks Palette sampler I bought a couple years ago. I was missing marble heather, for which I’m substituting another grey but I had no white or bright yellow fingering. Those I’ve purchased.

Had some trouble getting started. Tangled up a good bit of the hank of white yarn trying to wind it, and then discovered that my cast on stitches wouldn’t slide over the join on my cable needle. No worries - #3 DPN’s to the rescue! I’ve got the ribbing finished and the increase row, as well as one row of the main chart. 69 to go!

25 rows left. It’s been awesome to knit this & see the design emerge. I’ve loved every moment of knitting this.

2/16 - Finished! I ended up using only one color that wasn’t stash. Purchased on the yarn crawl during the OCMD Fiber Fest. Everything else was something I already had. I’m stupidly proud of how gorgeous this is. And equally disappointed that my floats are too tight in the secrion that is the mountains. I’m going to fix it, though - my son, unbeknownst to me, has been coveting this hat the whole time I was knitting it, and I would love nothing more than for him to wear it proudly. It WILL fit!!
